A Non-Government Development Organisation
The Sarvodaya Samiti is a non-government, non-political & non-profit making organization committed for the development of tribal, rural and other underprivileged classes of the Society. The Samiti was formed by some eminent freedom fighters and dedicated social workers during the Bhoodan and Gramadan movement initiated by Acharya Binoba Bhave during 1959. The Sarvodaya Samiti was earlier known as Narayanpatna Khetra Samiti, started its operation in Koraput and Kalahandi districts of Orissa. The Samiti was registered under Societies Registration Act in the year 1970-71.
Khadi & Village Industries Activities
The Sarvodaya Samiti is running two Khadi spinning centers and three weaving centers. Three hundred (300) artisans are associated with the Samiti under Khadi programme. Yarn is produced from the cotton sliver on M.N.C. charakhas at Dharamgarh and weaving center at Jeypore and Dharmagarh.
Koraput district being the main area of flora and forest, we have trained farmers to take up Beekeeping as one of the income generating activities. At Gandhi Nagar, Koraput we are running a Beekeeping training center. Now we are trying to introduce Mellifera bee colony in the district for better honey production.
TURMERIC, PALUA & SPICES
Turmeric is locally cultivated by the tribal. The Samiti is processed and packed the Turmeric, Palua & Spices through the Mahila Mandal and market it in Khadi Bhandars and other outlets.

TRAINING ON BEEKEEPING
We have organised training for SHG members on Beekeeping in Podagada, Lamataput, Semiliguda, Pottangi & Nandapur by our technical expert. The beneficiaries are trained how to handle the Indian bees and management of bees in different seasons.read more

The Samiti has been running 35 crèche centers in Laxmipur and Koraput block of the Koraput, Dabugoan of Nabarangapur & Dharamgarh of Kalahandi districts of Orissa. The programme is supported by Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi & Ministry of Women & Child Development, Govt. of India.read more
The Samiti is running an Educational Complex for 150 ST girl child at Gandhi Nagar, Koraput with the support from Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India since 1992-93.read more
The Samiti is running a SWADHAR GREH for the destitute women at Dharamgarh in the Kalahandi district of Orissa for 30 such women in collaboration with Bharatiya Adimjati Sevak Sangh, New Delhi and financial support from the Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India, New Delhi since 1987.read more
